World War 2 Planes The Advent of Modern Aviation
Dear visitor,
If you're reading this, you most probably
have a keen interest in World War 2 planes. So do I. This site is the
result of my passion for the technical leaps that were made between
1939 and 1945, as the engineers from the countries at war entered in a
fierce competition to create heavier, faster and more agile military
aircraft. World War 2 aircraft, especially those using jet engines,
were quite different from the ones that had been flown before. Even by
today's general aviation standards, these airplanes' performances are
impressing.
For information about a specific aircraft, use the search tool
below, or use the navbar on the left to browse by country or through
the alphabetical index.

If you don't find the aircraft you're seeking, please let me know -
this site is a work-in-progress, and I'd like to provide visitors with
what they're looking for. The goal is to gather World War 2 plane
pictures and information for everyone to browse. Doing this work on a
part-time basis, the process pace might be rather moderate. You may
want to bookmark the site and come back in a few weeks. In the
beginning, I will focus on the most famous Word War 2 planes.
Besides, you may know someone (be it your father, uncle, grand-father
or great-uncle) who's been a World War 2 plane pilot or crew member;
their memories are priceless, so if you're willing to have them
preserved here, feel free to use the Contact button to reach me.
I hope you enjoy your visit.
